This pentagon shaped design represents the Wu Xing, the Chinese Five Elements. Yellow for earth, white for metal, black for water, blue for wood, and red for fire. The five elements are always in motion and interdependent on each other. Wood feeds fire, fire creates earth from ash, the earth bears metal, metal carries water, and water nourishes wood. It is used in Chinese medicine to interpret the unity between the human body and the natural environment.
Hand crafted by elegant cloisonne enameling techniques. No two balls are exactly alike. Comes in a cloth covered box. Also known as Chinese exercise balls and Chinese health balls.
