These are well-polished, seemingly treated only with wax, if that. (Type A/natural Jadeite). Holding a light to them reveals a beautiful translucence and a range of colors. The ones I received were clearly carved from the same block and have a good mix of white calcite, amber, and green translucence. Its structure is weblike and mycelic, confirming that it is genuine Jadeite and not Nephrite. Beautiful, quality purchase, and a good price for nice jade, even outside of their use as Baoding balls.

I have a mild arthritis in my hand and have found these are just the trick to keep it at bay. I like the healing imagery of jade and find it helps me orient myself in exercising my hands. the balls themselves are pretty and well made. it is not the highest quality flawless jade, but then you don’t need that for how I am using these and the price is very reasonable.
